この記事の三行要約

さて、こういった場当たり的な説明をする最大の詐欺師と言えば、エリック・デュベイという人物です。この人物がいかに詐欺的な言動を行っているかを見てみましょう。
記事『Arctic Midnight Sun Proves Flat Earth』(2016)
デュベイによれば、南極では白夜はないらしいです。
Heliocentrists also cannot explain why the Midnight Sun phenomenon is not experienced anywhere in the Southern hemisphere at any time of year. Quite to the contrary, it has been recorded by the Royal Belgian Geographical Society in “Expedition Antarctique Belge,” that during the most severe part of the Antarctic winter, from 71 degrees South latitude onwards, the sun sets on May 17th and is not seen above the horizon again until July 21st! This is completely at odds with the ball-Earth theory, but easily explained by the flat-Earth model. The Midnight Sun is seen from high altitudes in extreme Northern latitudes during Arctic summer because the Sun, at its inner-most cycle, is circling tightly enough around the polar center that it remains visible above the horizon for someone at such a vantage point. Likewise, in extreme Southern latitudes during Arctic summer, the Sun completely disappears from view for over 2 months because there at the Northern Tropic, at the inner-most arc of its boomerang journey, the Sun is circling the Northern center too tightly to be seen from the Southern circumference.

この本においても、南極白夜（24時間太陽）は存在しないとしています。
57) 体制側（the establishment）は、南極でも白夜（Midnight Sun）が見られると主張している。しかし、そのことを示す編集されていない連続映像は都合よく存在せず、また、その主張を自ら検証あるいは反証できるように、冬至の時期に独立した探検家が南極へ渡航することも認めていない。
一方で、北極の白夜については、編集されていない連続映像が何十本も公開されており、その存在は疑いようのないほど確実に確認されている。

16. The Midnight Sun

南極にも同様の現象（白夜）があると主張する人々もいる。しかし、不思議なことに、それを示す編集されていない連続映像は存在せず、インターネット上で公開されている数少ない映像も、不自然に編集・加工されているように見える。さらに、南極条約によって、独立した探検家が冬至の時期に南極を訪れ、これらの主張を検証あるいは反証することも認められていない。一方で、北極の白夜については、編集されていない連続映像が何十本も公開されており、その存在は疑いようのないほど確実に確認されている。
説明を翻す詐欺師デュベイ
ところが、2024年のThe Final Experimentによって三人の平面信者が南極で24時間太陽を見た後、デュベイは、その主張を180°真逆にしているのです。
- 南極白夜があっても平面説にとって問題はない
- 過去のフラットアーサーも南極白夜の存在を認めていた
この件については、既にフラットアーサーの愚かさ(60)：馬鹿か詐欺師かエリック・デュベイ？(2)に書きましたが、もう少し解説してみましょう。
これはエリック・デュベイ自身のこの動画の3:54の時点です。
フラットアース・コミュニティには、南極で24時間太陽が見える現象を説明するモデルが以前から存在している。その中には、レディ・ブラントやアルバート・スミスが19世紀の著書『Zetetic Astronomy（ゼテティック天文学）』で示したモデルがある。
これは、「Zetetic Astronomy; or, The Sun’s Motions North and South; with the Moon’s Motions; Fancied and Real（1904年）」という書籍です。以前に紹介した以外の衝撃的な記述も参照してみます。
1904年のフラットアーサーの本に書いてあったこと
この当時のフラットアーサーは、明確に南極白夜を認めていたのです。ライト兄弟の初飛行はその前年1903年のことですよ。飛行機もない時代に、「南極白夜はあります！」と認めているのです。

Now, when the sun reaches the southern tropic, Capricorn, it is summer in the south, though at Christmas-time it is winter with us in the north. The sun’s daily circuit is then at its nearest to the southern centre; and so the mid-night sun may be seen in the South, at this time of year, just as it may be seen in the North during the Arctic Summer. We have already shown how this is possible over a plane-earth, and how it conflicts with the idea that the earth is a sphere; (see articles on “The Midnight Sun, both North and South,” which appeared in The Earth, vol. i., Nos. 4 & 5, 1900).

That the midnight sun was seen South was reported by the late Antarctic Expeditions. In fact it was reported that the sailors played cards on deck in full sunlight at midnight about Christmas-time (see reports in various newspapers afterwards; see also The Windsor Magazine for May, 1900, in which a photograph—presumably—is given of the Midnight Sun, taken from the ship Belgica, Christmas, 1898.)

（前ページより続く）1898, until February, 1899. The sun is represented as well above the horizon, so that it could shine “down” on the sailors upon deck at midnight. Though not in harmony with the globular theory, this may be taken as fairly representing the facts of the case, and as harmonizing with other known facts which have been reported to us both by Zetetics and Globularists.

For instance we have made inquiries from various persons, and we find that the longest day in any place further south than the tropic of Capricorn increases in length as the latitude increases, or distance south of the observer. It follows therefore, logically, that if we were to go further and further south the longest day would keep on increasing until it filled the whole of the twenty-four hours. Then of course the Midnight Sun might be seen.

Testimony has now been given that it has been seen, and this testimony has been admitted in Zetetic literature, thus proving, speaking generally, that Zetetics are willing to learn and to admit of known facts.

Whether we can explain these facts is another question. We have traced the sun’s path for six months of the year, from the Tropic of Cancer to the Tropic of Capricorn. These are called “tropics” because the sun turns back towards its former course and position. The word “tropic” comes from the Greek word trepo, which means “to turn.” These turnings take place when the sun is 23½° from the equator, whether North or South, or about 66½° from the central points.

Taking the southern circle in Diagram III., we now proceed to consider the sun circling round the southern point, S. This takes place in the present year (1904) on the 22nd of December; that is, the sun enters the cardinal sign Capricorn on this day, and its declination is practically the same for two or three days. Then it begins gradually to turn further away from the Southern Centre. For some days its declination alters very little—not more than about one minute of a degree per day. It circles round the southern point in the direction A B C D, as indicated by the arrows. It is like a great clock spring beginning slowly to unwind itself. Leaving the inner circle the sun may be represented as proceeding gradually from A to E, and so on unto F, until it finally returns to the equator at the point G. Here we will leave it for a moment to consider another important fact, namely the fact that there are
TWO GREAT CURRENTS.

Whether North or South of the imaginary line called the “Equator,” we have seen that the heavenly bodies, being light and small, are carried round their respective centres by the ethereal currents which prevail around these centres. We may speak of these more fully later on, and attempt to show what is the natural or physical cause of the direction of these currents, as secondary causes under the first great cause of all things, the fiat of the Ever-Living and Ever-Blessed Creator.

一体どっちが正しいのか？
要するに、地球平面は「一枚」ではなく、

しかし、フラットアーサーの愚かさ(60)：馬鹿か詐欺師かエリック・デュベイ？(2)でカンパネラが指摘しているように、「太陽が南半球平面にいる、北半球平面はどうやって太陽光を得るの？」という疑問には何も答えていません。
しかし、詐欺師デュベイの詐欺手法としては、
- これまで「南極白夜はない」としてきたのに、南極白夜観測後になって、突然「あっても問題ない、レディ・ブラウントなども認めている」などと言い始めたこと。
- しかし、「一体どのモデルが正しいのか？一枚なのか二枚なのか」を一切言わないこと。
さらには、同じ動画において、「こういう実験をした人もいる、これなら南極で白夜が見える」などと別の説を持ち出しているのです。
要するに、結局こういうことなのです。
カルト信仰の信者たちが、安心してその信仰を続けられるように、何らかの説明をつけてやってるだけ。現実とは一切何の関係もない。
そして、頭の弱い信者たちは、何の疑問も持たずに信じ続けるという、ただそれだけなのです。
